KENDALL STREET COMPANY

Virginia’s Kendall Street Company are no strangers to having a wild time. The genre-fluid, eclectic rock ensemble has drawn varied comparisons to the dynamic jams of Umphrey’s McGee and Widespread Panic, songwriting prowess of John Prine, experimental psychedelia of Pink Floyd, progressive jazz-infused rock of Frank Zappa, and off-color humor of Ween and They Might Be Giants. Including elements of crowd participation, off-the-cuff comedic bits, haphazard choreography, musical improvisation, and surprise musical guests, each Kendall Street Company concert is an experience unlike any other. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry. Just remember to stay hydrated.

In addition to their reputation as must-see live performers, the Company’s prolific immunity to writer’s block has led them to release over 100 original songs between seven studio albums, two live albums, and four EPs in a period of just six years. 2023 will see the release of (at least) an additional two studio records, a handful of singles, and who knows what else! You can also enjoy a massive selection of live shows here through our direct-to-band subscription and nugs.net. These often include unreleased and improvised tracks, as well as covers ranging from the Grateful Dead to DEVO, to Alanis Morisette, to Soulja Boy, to Cake, to Mapache, to Billie Eilish, to really whatever we might be listening to. With a full in-ear monitor and multitrack recording rig, the band continues to capture the moments that mean the most to fans.

Kendall Street Company is: Louis Smith [Rhythm Guitar/Lead Vox], Brian Roy [Bass], Ryan Wood [Drums], Ben Laderberg [Lead Guitar], and Jake Vanaman [Saxophone/Keys]. The five met at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, where they graduated between 2015 and 2020. For such a young band, their accomplishments are commendable. They have performed at festivals including LOCKN’, Summer Camp, High Sierra, Resonance, Floydfest, Hulaween, Peach Fest, Northlands, and Rooster Walk. The band has been joined on stage and in the studio by the likes of Keller Williams, Ron Holloway, Andy Thorn, Sawborg Destructo (GWAR), and Andy Hall. The Company has also opened for many of the greats in the scene, sharing the stage with Goose, Umphrey’s McGee, Papadosio, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Leftover Salmon, the Infamous Stringdusters, Big Something and Melvin Seals & JGB.

DIZGO:

Born from attic jam sessions between childhood friends Andrew Pickel and Kevin Hinnefeld, Dizgo’s story began with two guitars, a tape recorder, and a dream – literally. The band’s name came to Hinnefeld in a dream, before their first gig, reflecting the cosmic, boundary-breaking sound they’d soon deliver. Later joined by Jake Evatt on keys/vocals and Justin Clark on drums, the Bloomington-based quartet has since evolved into one of the country’s premiere touring acts.

Critics have called Dizgo “one of the most operative names in the jam band scene” and “Indiana’s psychedelic powerhouse,” blending the adventurous spirit of jamtronica with the deep-pocket pulse of funk, the warmth of soul, explosive guitar, and the kaleidoscopic textures of psychedelic rock. Their live shows are immersive journeys – a dance party and mind-trip rolled into one. Interweaving soulful vocals, analog synths, and searing guitar complete with intricate compositions and extended improvisation. The result is something both danceable and introspective: a dance floor where heads and hearts move in equal measure.

Dizgo’s touring resume reads like a true music lover’s bucket list – standout sets at Peach Music Festival, Summer Camp, Secret Dreams, Domefest & Sonic Bloom, alongside club & amphitheater performances supporting Goose, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, lespecial, Dogs in a Pile, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, and more. Their 2024 studio album “Melt” crystallized their ethos: when everything locks in, the band and the fans “melt into one collective unit,” channeling energy between themselves and the crowd in a feedback loop of groove.

From your local venue to the biggest festival stage, Dizgo creates a communal experience – one where genre is merely a suggestion, the band and the fans are a living organism, and every note is a step further down the rabbit hole.
