STARLETTA

KNIVES, MONDAY AFTERNOON, & LOSING DAYLIGHT

Doors: 7pm // Show: 7pm

Nashville-based project Starletta is driven by one dream: to write indie pop songs that resonate with listeners today. First releasing music under the moniker as an emotional outlet, artist and songwriter Billy Duganne took his memories watching VH1 Classic with his dad and turned them into sonic experiences that feell just as nostalgic as they are refreshing. He found inspiration from the Brit-pop sensibility of The 1975, the atmospheric production of The Midnight, and the emotional vocal delivery of Luke Combs. Thus, creating a world where 80s synthwave, pop, and country can coexist in perfect harmony. Starletta’s commitment to blending these worlds is apparent on his 2021 smash, “Crying in Miami,” which became an overnight sensation on TikTok. Telling the story of a relationship that fell apart on different coasts, the track caught listeners’ attention for its hopelessly romantic storytelling. Since this song, he has proven himself to be a charismatic performer as well, opening for Nightly on tour as well as playing Bridgestone Arena for the NHL’s Hockey Is For Everyone Initiative. Now, showing no signs of slowing down, Starletta is proving himself to be more than just a viral TikTok moment. His debut record, Neon Cowboy, is a concept record about losing love and doing whatever it takes to reclaim it. From its first single, “Over You,” which became a viral hit in both the United States and the Phillippines, to the beautifully hopeful “Different Music” featuring Maggie Schneider of glimmers, the 10-track collection includes dazzling saxophone solos, sparkling synths, and emotional lyrics. While his journey as an artist has had its ups and downs, the one thing that Duganne strives to maintain is his connection with his listeners. “I try to be as vulnerable and personal as possible in my music and Neon Cowboy feels like i have finally figured out how to do it best,” he says. Now let’s ride.
